How To Listen And Communicate With Your Soul
First of all, we must understand what we are talking about when we say soul. For this purpose, soul is that human urge that tells you when you have done something wrong or have done something not in alignment with what the soul wants. It also affirms inside the body when you have done something that the soul loves. The soul and human body are deeply connected as yoga philosophy goes. There are many bodies, and as we understand and discover each one we come close to the messages of the soul.
Now the soul is not something separate of the self and consciousness. It is however something that is so deeply connected to the universe that there is a lot of information that comes along with it. Over the centuries we have slowly stepped away from an inconvenient life filled with lessons and initiations and have moved towards immediate gratification. Whether this is separate from social media or in the grocery stores, decision sare being made for us and this is a dangerous practice for the soul.
The soul requires radical self confidence and discipline.
There are so many temptations in life that muffle the messages of the soul. Diet high in sugar, low mobility or kinaesthetic awareness are just two ways in which we corrupt the soul.
Never allowing for our minds to be silenced and stilled, constant entertainment drowns out the souls voice, exhausting it in to contempt.
Our soul is what gives us purpose and passion for our role in life. It is what calls upon our natural gifts and abilities and guides us to our highest potential.
Ever wonder why so many lawyers quit and turn into artists? Doctors dropping out to become yoga teachers or health coaches.
We all want to help people, or just help in general but there are many ways we can be of service while also thriving and being with joy in every moment of our lives.
Yoga practices such as meditation, breath work and asana are all vital components and a great entry point to communicating and building a relationship with your soul.
Test yourself in each and every moment, ask questions like
“Is this in alignemnt with who i want my future self to be?”
“Does this feel good in all parts of me? Body, mind and soul/stomach?”
“What does it feel like to lean into the discomfort?”
“What is the first immediate thought that comes to mind when wanting to respond?”
Take moments in meditation to visualize your future self and imagine how they would act, how they would handle certain situations that you recognize is a pattern. How could they show up radically different from what you are used to?
A big part of knowing who you are is also knowing exactly who you are not.
