A certified Reiki Master with 500 hours of yoga teacher training and hundreds of Reiki attunements performed for students worldwide, she is deeply devoted to sharing this powerful energy work. As the co-founder of Soul School Yoga, Janelle has made it her life's mission to travel the world, teaching and sharing Reiki as a holistic technology for transformation and self-healing.
Having lived in Tulum for years, Janelle has cultivated a deep relationship with its sacred lands and vibrant spiritual community. As an experienced retreat planner and guide, she curates transformational experiences that blend ceremony, movement, sound, and connection, offering a gateway to both inner and outer exploration. She has studied somatic trauma therapy, intergenerational trauma therapy, ancestral healing modalities, dance, movement therapy, Kundalini Yoga, Tantra Yoga and the feminine arts.
Jia has travelled to 12+ countries and counting and loves to spend her time in the heart of a jungle, desert, mountain range, ocean, or waterfall. She believes in the potent, powerful, healing feminine energy of Mother Earth & how our connection to the earth is the key for us connecting back to our bodies and healing individually and as a collective.
Jia loves to create and guide deeply transformational experiences. She is passionate about assisting souls in connecting back to the organic feminine and reclaiming radiance, confidence and inner power. When working with Jia you can expect to discover what lies beyond the surface.

We aim to be as flexible as possible. However, these are IKAL’S official times:
● Check-in is 3:00 PM
● Check-out is 12:00 PM
IKAL will do their best to have your room ready for you when you arrive and you are always welcome to relaxon the beach or in the beach club area for as long as you need to.

Once you book your stay with us, please send us a message to our Whatsapp requesting this service.
We can arrange Cancun to Tulum ground transportation for you, through a reliable and comfortable service.
We will do our best to match up anyone arriving/departing the same time to share the ride and costs.
Whoever prepaid your transportation and wind up sharing, will have a credit for the difference upon arrival. If not paid in advance, you will need to pay for the service upon arrival at reception.
It takes about 90 minutes to get you, from the airport to your home here at Ikal Tulum Hotel.
Please remember the duration of the trip varies according to the traffic.
There is an additional charge of US$20/each for all pick-ups from the Cancun hotel zone & Playa del Carmen.

You will find the driver as you exit the airport, they will be holding a sign that will say ”Soul School Yoga”.
If you have any problems locating your driver, please just send us a Whatsapp so we can help you.
Most flights arrive at Terminal 3, except for domestic flights. If you're coming from Terminal 2, just head straight out. However, if you're arriving at Terminal 3, make your way towards the right as you exit and look for the small restaurant called Margaritaville to help you find the driver more easily.

Three nourishing meals are provided each day, offered in a buffet or family-style setting. The meals feature a variety of meat and vegetarian options. All retreat meals are designed to be low in calories (but not excessively), high in fiber, rich in essential nutrients, and full of flavor. We are also able to accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests.

Yes, there is wifi at the hotel. Generally, it is advisable to verify with your carrier before your arrival, as the quality of the connection may vary. While the signal from the beach isn't always reliable, you should be able to access a connection at various locations within the property.

Most places in Tulum take card, including IKAL. They suggest paying in pesos for tipping the hard working staff & all extra services to avoid high merchant fees, however, but this is to your discretion.
It’s always handy to have cash on hand when in mexico.

Ikal Tulum is nestled on the beach within a serene national park, offering a tranquil, natural setting. Here are your travel options:
From Tulum Airport: Just 50 minutes away by private taxi directly to Ikal.
From Cancun Airport: About 2 hours away. You can choose:
A private transfer straight to Ikal for ease and comfort.
The budget-friendly ADO bus to Tulum town, followed by a short taxi ride to the retreat (approximately 2.5 hours in total).
We can also arrange private or shared transfers for an additional fee, ensuring your journey is as convenient as possible.

From sign-up to your return home after the retreat, our team will stay in communication to ensure you're fully supported throughout your journey. We'll assist with travel arrangements and be there every step of the way, so you can focus on your experience with complete peace of mind. -
Yes, you can definitely travel with another participant! We’ve created a WhatsApp group where you can chat with fellow guests about booking flights and coordinating stays before and after the retreat. Our trip coordinator will also assist in pairing you up with anyone traveling on the same dates to make your journey even easier.

Stays Before and After the Retreat
We recommend staying 2 days before and after the retreat to fully arrive, ground yourself, and integrate the experience. If you have the time, this extra time will allow you to settle in and enjoy the surroundings. If not, you can fly into Mexico anytime on the 3rd, preferably after 12 PM, as check-in is at 3 PM.
